06/15/26 - New File Formats, New Members, New Focus
Mechanical Team - We kick started our session by splitting into three specialized groups to divide and conquer our goals for the day. While one team focused on CAD integration and another finalized our "Lessons from Sponsors" presentation, the third group worked on physical iterations of the robot. During the CAD process, we hit a roadblock with several import errors while using a standard .step file in Onshape; to troubleshoot this, we pivoted and converted the model into a .3mf file format to achieve a cleaner import. We wrapped up the session by successfully completing the slideshow and immediately transitioning into hands-on testing to evaluate our new robotic modifications.
Programming Team - After presenting our team split pitch, we decided that we would be splitting up. Eliana would be in charge of base research (and future people who may be interested), focusing on finding the resources and being the base of knowledge for the code, while Ben and Rishaan focus on the coding. New members, Leen and Lana, met our subteam and got a crash-course to FTCsim.org, and got to see how we operate. Everything ran smoothly and we were able to get a decent amount done.
Business Team - We really didn’t do much on the business side today. Mostly, we worked on grants and learned about them!
