06/02/26 - The Crunch Time Chronicles: Prep, Practice, & Powering Up
Mechanical Team - We began the session by shifting the gecko wheels downward to optimize our intake mechanism for picking up the balls, a modification that required a partial disassembly of the subsystem. Once the wheels were repositioned, we shifted our focus to the electronics, wiring each individual motor and securely mounting the central hub. To ensure clean wire management and prevent future tension damage, we neatly zip-tied the cabling to the chassis while ensuring adequate slack was left for each connection. Finally, we successfully paired the controller to the hub, bringing us one massive step closer to a fully functional robot just in time for our upcoming sponsorship presentation!
Programming Team - Due to our upcoming meeting with the Predator Motorsports, we decided to have an extra meeting to work on practicing presentations. We practiced our scripts and updated them, but also realized that we had errors with the configuration of the robot and the naming of the robot controller and driver hub. We ended up setting up another meeting with Hank, which was extremely beneficial. We were able to fix the robot and get it up and running for the meeting. Overall, we were very productive and made great progress.
Business Team - Since we had our thank you presentation and meeting with Predator Motorsports Inc. coming up, we decided to have an extra meeting to practice our scripts.
