Take your FLL Robot to the next level!

Whether your child is a seasoned competitor looking for a breakthrough or a newcomer preparing for their first season, this camp is designed to give them a competitive edge. By diving into a past FLL Challenge, we deconstruct the specific skills needed to stand out. With a coach bringing 25 years of experience as a FIRST mentor, referee, and judge, our daily lessons provide exclusive insight into exactly what makes a team succeed—both on the field and in the judging room.

Strategy

Focusing on specific goals

Designing a robot with a time contraint is hard. Having a focused strategy allows teams to divide and conquer. Learn about patterns found across all FLL Missions and how that impacts your design choices.

Robot Design

Engineering Design Process

FIRST is more than just robots. Teams often overlook the importance of the engineering design process and how it effects their final robot. Let the process lead you to a better robot.

Matches

How efficiency plays a role

The 2:30 min time limit is hard to beat. Learn to shave time with set up, transitions, and team work. Every second counts when you are fighting the clock so every movement matters.

Presentations

What do judges want to hear?

Ever wonder why you got that score on your rubric? We will do a deep dive on what the judges are looking for at every level of competition and how your team can highlight the important things that judges focus on.

Looking for something new?

Say hello to VEX GO

The world of youth robotics is always growing. Expand your child's experience and challenge them to build something new.

VEX GO is only the beginning

As part of an ecosystem that grows with your child, VEX GO offers a welcoming, no-pressure introduction to the world of robotics. We focus on more than just the build; we teach the engineering mindset and innovative thinking skills that empower students in FLL Challenge, Science Olympiad, and their own DIY projects at home.

Getting Started with VEX GO

Each day starts with an overview and demo of skills being taught so kids have a solid understanding of our goals. We focus on specific skills each day so kids can see their own progress.

Learning new Skills

Each day adds new skills. Kids start with basics of building and VEXcode. By the end of camp kids will have a solid foundation of engineering design with the VEX GO kit.

Friendly Competition

We end the week with a competition so kids can apply their new skills in a non-competitive environment where growing is the main focus.

Support beyond Summer Camp

OUR team helping YOUR team

Our goal is to make sure all kids have fun on their engineering journey. That could be in competition or with other events (camps, after school programs, library sessions, of robotics competition). Our outreach is always growing and changing with the needs of our community. Contact us with any of the following:

  • Know about a event that our team can join?
  • Are you planning on starting a robotics team?
  • Can your local library benefit from a STEM program?
  • Is your school interested in starting a program?
  • Do you know a coach or mentor that needs a little extra help?
  • Is your child participating in Science Olympiad and need some extra help?

Scheduling

Need a timeline to get everything done? We can help with that. We learn about your team to help maximize your time between season release and competition days.

Organizing

Don't know how to find the information you need for displays and presentations? We can help with that. Let's find the best online app to keep your kids, parents, and coaches on the same page.

Reviews

Don't know if your team is actually ready for competition? We can help with that. Present to our team or join a mock competition to practice your skills.

Materials

Need something? We can help with that. Our team can help build FLL tables or make shirts. Want to make brochures, banners, or sticker? We know vendors offering competitive prices.
